Alex the bear's possibly impossible bear tails

A series of greeting cards illustrating the slightly odd mini adventures of a teddy bear named Alex...

The 'real' bear was a birthday gift from my youngest son, David, for his mum when she was briefly hospitalized. A 'make-your-own-bear' he needed a name to go with the 'birth' certificate so David chose to call him after his late grandfather, Irene's dad.

Alex sat with the other bears, around the house, until, one day, I thought of doing some illustrations for an exhibition to raise funds for The Lily Centre breast cancer support organisation in Liverpool the 'theme' being bras... hence the 3 drawings where he is swinging or lazing in his very own hammocks!

Recently I decided to extend this mini-series... now there is talk of a book and Alex, after all those years, has acquired not only a new t-shirt, but a definite showbiz attitude, appearing, along with the cards and bookmarks, at craft shows... much to my vague annoyance as he is sometimes more popular than the 'proper' art work!

• A5 greeting cards are £2 each - all designs available in colour or monochrome
• A3 prints are available at £30 (in colour or monochrome) - these are mounted, signed and presented in a re-sealable polythene bag
